Can anyone help with certain things in this novel? In chapter 3, is the disappearing temple a specific location from a Howard story? Also, does the sheep-hunting bat thing have a common species name in the Conanverse? Finally, I haven't determined the fates of all the prominent soldiers. I found specific references to the deaths of Granth and Daverio, but the fate of Vulth, Benno, Nopel and Treviranus is up in the air, unless I missed some subtle hint. The final scenes of the uprising are from Mordec's and Conan's POVs, and there is fleeting description of some of the enemies they hacked down, but none is specific enough to match to any of the named characters. I imagine it highly probable that Vulth and Benno were killed, since Venarium was a notorious battle for its high imperial casualties, and find it irritating that HT would leave these characters' fate undetermined after we had spent so much time with them.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 04:39, September 20, 2018 (UTC)
