Role-playing games
Conan’s seminal position in S&S has until recently been under-represented in fantasy role-playing games (RPGs). In 1985, prompted by the Schwarzenegger movies, TSR published two Conan the Barbarian modules for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. In the following year, TSR published the self-contained Conan Role-Playing Game. Steve Jackson Games published GURPS Conan in 1989. Conan's most significant appearance in an RPG is in Mongoose Publishing's official d20-System/OGL System rules: Conan the Roleplaying Game, published between 2004 and 2010. Modiphius Entertainment later published Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of and sourcebooks (2016-2022) using its 2d20 rules' system. |
