"Lament for the King" was a propaganda song written by the Valusian royal minstrel and poet Ridondo during the reign of Kull. The song was a lament for the death of the former tyrant king Borna, praising the villain as a saint and defaming Kull as a "black-hearted savage".[1]

In the Conan stories, it is also the name of the propaganda song composed by the Aquilonian royal minstrel and poet Rinaldo. The song is likewise a lament for the death of King Numedides and a denunciation of King Conan.[2]
