Gomlah was a cousin of King Borna of Valusia. When Borna was overthrown by Kull, Gomlah fled to Verulia and took refuge there. The Verulian king (who is not named) took this opportunity to move against Valusia. A team of men was sent into Valusia clandestinely, with the help of the Valusian traitor Dondal, to capture Kull and dispose of him after being questioned. With Kull out of the way, it would leave Valusia vulnerable to Verulian invasion, and Gomlah would be installed on the throne as a puppet king. Kull was taken prisoner in the Accursed Gardens two miles east of the Valusian capital, but he was set free by the noblewoman Delcartes who had also been captured. The conspirators were killed by Kull, Brule, and Dalgar, and the plot ultimately failed.[1]
